A podium and some strong racing

Another weekend of racing around the NW found the team scattered across the state racing their bikes.

Bruce and Serena made their way down to Ashland for the latest edition of the Oregon XC Series at the Spring Thaw,  tough course with nearly 5000 ft of climbing.

Serena had an excellent race winning the Pro Women category in 2 hours 17 min. Bruce had a great race finishing 11th for the Pro Men finishing in 1 hour 49 minutes against a tough field from Oregon and including many California riders.

Meanwhile, Matt was taking on the cat 3 field at the State Championship road race in Silverton. The Silverton Road Race, a hilly course with lots of power climbs, saw the field stay mostly together. A small break formed, but was brought back with about 5k to go. Matt finished a respectable 12th on a tough uphill sprint.

Look for us this weekend at the Pole Pedal Paddle in Bend. Damain will be rocking the cycling leg for the Sunnyside Sports shop team and Matt will be representing the team in the individual race (look for the sweet Silverado jersey). Cheer for ’em if you see ’em and have an awesome weekend out there.
