Spring In Central Oregon

Lower Bridge Road Ride Bend, Oregon

Spring has hit Central Oregon and the members of Swell Velo are taking full advantage of the sunny skies.  The temperatures are still cold, and mornings bring frost and sometimes snow, but things warm up a bit and allow for great riding, on the road and on the dirt.

Last Sunday, Matt, Bruce and Serena headed out with 75+ other riders for the Early-Season Century.  Out to Smith Rock, through the Prineville Reservoir, and back to Bend – the ride ended up being about 107 miles.

And, the trails have been awesome.  The Phil’s Network is snow-free all the way to Storm King and out of Shevlin Park you can ride up the Mrazek trail for almost an hour before hitting snow.  We have been getting out as much as possible and tackling the technical bits with vengeance.   Serena is trying to shake Matt from her wheel on the descents, but still has some work to do.

Thanks for reading – more updates to come!
